The week continued and little-by-little, I started to feel stronger. I was able to walk the whole loop with Sophie on Thursday and on Friday I put on my Peloton shoes. Matthew sent them to me as I forgot them. I am only doing low impact rides but my body is starting to feel familiar again.
Yesterday the boys came by to find me swearing in my backyard which is pretty typical. I am trying to cut back the Virginia Creeper vine that is threatening to take over the world. Or at least the garden. It really brings to mind the monster plant in Little Shop Of Horrors and it seems to tangle its way into everything. I am ruthless in the destruction of this invasive ruby-red, leaved nightmare.
In the afternoon Dave brought a cake and then set to make buttercream frosting which he then added for us! We had tea and proper catch up. It was really full service. Not only did he bring a cake, frost it, and then feed it to me. He also did the washing up! Sophie was in high heaven nuzzling Matt. She gave me a look that was more than suggestive that she wanted to go home with them. I pretended I didn’t see.
This is the two week point. I finally lit the fire for Sophie. I think I’ve done pretty well given the obstacles, lack of car, and near death experience. Onward and upward.
