Many of you have asked for it and while I have had the opportunity to capture it before, I finally got around to it last weekend. The only thing missing is Sophie. I hesitate to buy a bike with a basket that she sit in. It seems like setting up a situation fraught with potentially poor outcomes.

I have in fact, seen dogs riding in baskets with their owners pedaling behind them but I just don’t see it for us. Sophie is following directions a bit better here and I attribute that to her so frequently being off leash and having increased independence. But…. yeah I just don’t see it. Last week after bragging to Matthew about how she stayed right with me on the trails around the village, I caught a quick look of her in my peripheral vision bolting across an adjacent field with three curious bulls taking it all in. She still doesn’t get that not all animals are her friends.

A word on the bread in this picture. Because there are never too many words about bread. This came from the local boulangerie on Sunday. I had learned the week prior that the cool kids in my village pre-order their Sunday bread. I did that this week and had a beautiful baguette to accompany Sunday dinner and a boule for the week.
