I am grateful to say that the sun returned after a three day hiatus. It has been very wet here. Sophie and I were muddier after our walks these last few days than we would prefer. Yesterday, we were again forced into a puppy bath situation which neither of us really appreciated.
Today, I woke and drove to the gym. It was technically not “open” but a few people with the same 24 hour pass were working out. It was quiet and lovely. No fist bumps but I didn’t feel nearly as self conscious about my sweating as on the days when people surround me.
When I returned home, I hurried to take Sophie for her walk. The sun was shining brightly and we did a reverse circuit to avoid the very muddiest bits of trail. I had to stop at the Cocci market on my way to pick up tabouleh and carrot salad which are two of the additions I constantly add to my salad bowl.
After, I took her over to the track and football pitch and let her run around. She seems to get that a track is meant for speed and flew around it like a flash. She was disappointed that I wouldn’t chase her but I explained that her mommy had retired from running and was focused on low impact cardio these days.
I took a couple of pictures on my foggy, wet, walk yesterday that I felt would be appropriate to the Halloween season. I’ve included them below.
